Waltham Police Warning Public of Downtown Attacks/Robberies

Waltham Police are increasing patrols in the downtown area.

Waltham Police are warning the public of a recent uptick in unarmed robberies in the downtown area.

The attacks have taken place over the last six weeks in the area east of Moody Street during the night time hours, police said in a press release. Most of the victims were attacked from behind and then robbed while walking alone. 

Police are urging pedestrians to walk in groups and to be aware of their surroundings. Pedestrians should be able to hear and see what is around them. 

Police are increasing patrols in the area.
