Waltham Man Charged in Alleged Face Bite Attack

The suspect allegedly bit a man's lip off.

A Waltham man is facing charges for allegedly biting at least a portion of a man’s lip off, according to Waltham Police. 

Adolfo Molina Martinez, 37, of 30 Cushing St., is charged with mayhem stemming from a violent Aug. 15 incident, according to Waltham Police. The mayhem charges encompass the elements of an assault charge, according to police. 

Martinez was at an apartment unit at 659 Moody St. at around 10:48 p.m., where a social gathering was being held, when he allegedly attack a man without provocation, according to Waltham Police. Martinez was in a common kitchen area when he suddenly began teasing the alleged victim, placed him in a headlock and bit his upper lip, according to police.

"It was unprovoked," said Waltham Police Sgt. Joseph Guigno. "He disfigured his face."

The upper lip was located and placed on ice for possible surgery, according to Guigno. There was no word on the victim’s condition.

Martinez allegedly has a history of biting and prior assault charges, Guigno said.
