Waltham Schools Receive $10,000 in Grants From The Harvard Pilgrim Foundation

Watham Public Schools were awarded a total of $10,000 through the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation’s Healthy School Food Champions program.  The school district was awarded the grant because of its commitment to high-quality food and the health of its students. This grant is made possible by the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and Mass in Motion, an initiative of the MA Department of Public Health.

“The school cafeteria plays a key role in any effort to create healthier environments for kids where they can receive the fresh, nutritious foods they need to be healthy and successful students,” said Karen Voci, Executive Director of the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation. “This grant is a wonderful way to provide schools with the tools they need in order to make healthy choices the easy choices for students.”
