On the article Sidewalk Snow-Clearing Requirement Proposed for Waltham

ReplyPatch readers noted that the CITY did a poor job of clearing the snow NOT the residents. There are many Waltham residents who do not own a snow blower, which is what was needed for the past two snowfalls. Will residents have to purchase snowblowers to be on the ready for such snowfalls?
Further, there are many residents who are seniors and many with disabilities who can not shovel snow. Is the city ready for the liability from such an ordinance? For example, if someone is sent to the hospital or worse dies from shoveling, the city could be facing lawsuits.
I believe that Waltham residents pay enough in taxes and should have the streets and sidewalks cleared by the city. Let's not pass along the responsibility to residents young and old, healthy and ill, to do what the city should be doing. -

valerie appears to have a potty mouth. she said she's a high school student and after reading the post, i wonder with all the mis-spelled words.
it is obvious that she loves her father but shame on her mother for allowing her to post in the manner that she did.
as for the post by david c, mr. casella does drive the vehicles and takes them home with him as well. he resides on a very busy street and people take notice when driving in the area. -

My best memory of this retail store was when it was Spencer Shoes not this two bit costume shop. The owner never gave anything back to our community, never gave to any local charities, never volunteered to serve on any community boards or non-profit organizations. Their windows have always been as tacky as their business. An eyesore in the downtown. I say, don;t let the door hit you in the --- on your way to West Concord. Hopefully, a nice gift shop, or clothing store will open there. I would hope that the owner of the building leases to something that will enhance the area.
