Waltham YMCA Unveils New Exercise Center

YMCA opens new facility.

The following was submitted by the Waltham YMCA, but has been edited for clarity. The Waltham YMCA has opened a brand new cardio center on Thursday, jan. 19, celebrating the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new cardio center space, which has doubled in size, will be home to brand new Cybex exercise equipment as well as a stretching area. “We are pleased to give our members and the community a welcoming environment that encourages healthy lifestyles”, said Donny Bautz, Director of Membership Operations at the Waltham YMCA. “These renovations will make the Y more accessible to everyone and better serve the needs of the community.” The Waltham YMCA is also undergoing renovations to expand the babysitting center, with …

Help Fight Hunger In Waltham!

Donate food to local organizations to combat hunger in Waltham.

The following was submitted by the Waltham YMCA: The Waltham YMCA is teaming up with the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen and the Emmanuel Church Food Pantry to support healthy living and fight hunger this fall through the “Get Fit, Give Back” campaign. From Nov. 7 – Nov. 11, new members who bring in five non-perishable food items will have their $50 YMCA joiner fee waived and receive 3 free sessions of health & wellness coaching, valued at $150. Current members who donate will be entered into a raffle for great prizes. Local YMCA hosts Healthy Kids Day.

It was all smiles and fun last week at at the Waltham YMCA's Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, May 7. Children and families gathered to participate in the nationwide event that promotes  wellness and healthy living while fighting childhood obesity.  Last year around 500 kids attended the event in Waltham and organizers expected around the same number attended this year.
