A thief recently struck two senior living communities in Waltham and Danvers.
Danvers and Waltham Police are working to identify a man who allegedly stole a several items from senior living communities in Waltham and Danvers. Danvers Police say the suspect is likely the same person who has struck other facilities in Waltham. They did not say whether it was the same person who stole a safe and cash from the Waltham YMCA recently. Waltham Police could not be reached for comment on Wednesday, Jan. 16, but have said they are investigating the Y incident. Danvers Police declined to identify the senior facilities in Davers and Waltham from which items were taken saying they wanted to preserve their investigation. Waltham Police are investigating the recent theft of a safe and some cash from the YMCA in Waltham. While no arrests have been made in the case, Waltham Police Sgt. Joseph Guigno said the Dec. 24, 2012 and Jan. 9, 2013 thefts from the YMCA remain under investigation. YMCA staff reported the first break-in at around 7:35 a.m. on Dec. 24 when they opened the facility for the day, Guigno told Waltham Patch. Sometime overnight, at least one robber kicked in a door to the building and broke into an office which contained a safe, Guigno said. The culprit took the safe from the building. Waltham Police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating an alleged thief.
Waltham Police are asking for the public's help in finding the spsuect in a recent string of credit card thefts. On Jan. 7, a man stole several credit cards from the YMCA in Waltham, according to the Waltham Police Facebook page. He stole them from lockers. The suspect was later spotted on surveillance cameras in stores, police said.

You might be able to find help fighting breast cancer and other types of cancers at your local grocery store and fitness centers, according to the research findings of Dr. Marian Neuhouser, Ph.D, RD. Dr. Neuhouser is a nutritional epidemiologist with a background in nutritional sciences. She is an investigator at Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Her research is focused on lifestyle factors such as nutrition and physical activity. Some factors may prevent breast and prostate cancer and improve survivorship in those diagnosed with cancer. Summer vacation for most kids means backyard barbeques, hot dogs and s’mores by a glowing camp fire. But for the 250,000 children who received free or reduced lunch during the school year, summer vacation can be a time of worry and hunger. For some low-income Boston families, providing three meals a day for their children can be a near impossibility, especially when the last school bell rings for the summer and children lose their access school lunches. Fucci, a Watertown native and Lexington resident, has led the Oak Square YMCA in Brighton, also a part of the YMCA of Greater Boston, for the past ten years.
