The road race, part of a larger race series in Waltham, kicked off at 12 p.m. with runners starting and finishing at the Moody Street bridge. The race is a fundraiser for local charities. The 3rd annual Moody Street 5k Road Race will be held today, hopefully under great weather. The race kicks off at 12 p.m. at the Moody Street bridge with runners finishing in the same location. The Moody Street 5k will be held on May 5.
Looking for a fun, healthy event to do soon? There is still time to register for the Moody Street 5k. Registration is available up until immeidately before the race on May 5, according to the Moody Street 5k Twitter feed. Registration is $25 for runners over 18 years old and $15 for ages 7 - 18. The race begins at the Moody Street bridge at 12 p.m. Race proceeds will benefit local charities and is part of the larger Race Around Waltham running series.

The series in starting its second season soon.
The Race Around Waltham running series is gearing up for a second season. The road race series will feature four new events this year including the Saint Jude 5k Road Race and Family Fun Walk, the Prospect Bandit Run, the Western Greenway 5k and the Trick or Treat Trot. In total, the series includes nine races. Each race is a fundraiser for charities and is intended to promote healthy living and increase community engagement, according to a race series press release. The series starts on March 30 and ends Nov. 16. The Moody Street 5k returns for its second year.
The Moody Street 5k road race returns to Waltham on Sunday. The race starts at 12 p.m. at the Moody Street bridge and ends in the middle of Moody Street near Watch City Brewing Company. The full route can be seen here. The race's proceeds will benefit Waltham High School, the John F. Kennedy Middle School and McDevitt Middle School, according to race organizer Colete Casey-Brenner. The race is part of a larger running series being held in the city this year.

The Moody Street 5k is scheduled for Sunday and we will have it covered, but with a little help from you, hopefully. The race, scheduled to kick off from the Moody Street bridge at noon, with volunteers tracking their finish times. Once you finish the race, come visit Waltham Patch and upload your finish time, and a post-race photo of yourself, to the site. Deadline for entering race is coming.
Time is running out to register to run the Moody Street 5k Road Race scheduled for Sunday, May 6. The race costs $15 for individuals 7 -18 years old and $25 for adults. The race beings at noon and benfits local charities.
