The plane has been evacuated and baggage taken off for inspection by law enforcement officials, according to several reports.

UPDATE TUESDAY, APRIL 16, 11:55 A.M.: The suspicious package on the plane was re-screened and cleared by security officials, according to the TSA (Transportation Security Administration). Area Residents Worried About Aircraft Noise Plan

The plan would send additional aircraft noise over Waltham.

Objections from nearby residents are slowing Logan Airport’s plan to install a new guidance system that would send additional air traffic and noise over Waltham, according to the Boston Globe. Under the plan, a new aircraft GPS-based guidance system would be installed to guide planes more efficiently into the airport in Boston. That system, however, would create more noise over Waltham. Residents in Dedham and Milton, which would also hear additional noise, told the Globe they want to maintain the current noise levels and evenly spread any additional decibels across other communities. Also, City Councillor Tom Stanley has previously expressed concern over the additional noise Waltham would hear. The Federal Aviation Administration, which …

More Logan Airport Aircraft Noise For Waltham?

Airplanes heading toward Logan Airport in Boston could bring more noise to Waltham residents.

Several thousand additional Waltham residents would be subjected to the noise of aircraft flying over them under a proposed plan to alter landing approach routes for planes heading toward Logan Airport. The Federal Aviation Administration’s proposal would essentially change air route navigation for runway 33L to a satellite-guided system, according to a copy of the proposal The chage would subject 6,584 additional Waltham residents to aircraft noise, according to a copy of the proposal. It's more like East Waltham, Jen P. The report contains a lot of details. The change involves planes taking off from Logan rather than those about to land (as implied by the sub-heading of this article). Planes using Runway 33L will head for a point over Medford and then follow one of serveral flight paths, depending on their final destinations. Two of those flight paths go right over Waltham. UPDATED: More Personnel, but No Direct Threat at Logan Airport

Security levels at the airport have not changed since the news of Osama bin Laden's death. Federal officials have not called for increased measures.
