Sing With American Idol’s Ayla Brown in Belmont Savings Idol Competition

Contestants will have an opportunity to perform alongside star at Payson Park Festival opener.

Local singers can vie for a chance to perform with American Idol semi-finalist Ayla Brown at this year’s Payson Park Music Festival, with an assist to Belmont Savings Bank. Interested vocalists can submit a two minute video audition via YouTube and encourage their friends, family and fans to “like” their performance on the Bank’s Facebook page.    The five most “liked” singers will open for Ayla at the Payson Park Music Festival on Wednesday, June 19 and one winner will be selected to perform with Ayla during the show. Belmont Savings Announce Summer Internships

Paid program will run June 26 to Aug. 16

Belmont Savings Bank, which recently opened a Waltham branch, has announced their summer internship opportunity, providing exposure to many of the bank’s diverse departments. Rising or graduating high school seniors are encouraged to apply for one of two spots in this six-week program, which will run from June 26 to August 16, 2012.  Applications will be accepted until June 15.  The internship program comes as local teens face their toughest test: finding a summer job. Belmont Savings Opens First Waltham Branch

Belmont-based launches new branch at Waltham Shaw’s with supermarket's president.

Belmont Savings Bank on Friday, June 1 celebrated the opening of its new in-store branch at Shaw’s Supermarket at 1070 Lexington St. in Waltham during a ribbon cutting ceremony alongside Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy and Shaw’s Supermarkets President Mike Stigers. Shaw’s Supermarkets President Mike Stigers paid tribute to the Bank’s history of quality service and likened Belmont Savings Bank to Shaw’s, calling both “two great institutions” that each “have well over 100 years of experience in New England.” “We welcome Belmont Savings Bank officially and look forward to long-term partnership and growth,” he added. New Belmont Savings Bank Opens In Waltham

New bank is located inside a supermarket.

[Editor's note: this story was corrected to reflect the fact that the new Belmont Savings Bank opens Tuesday instead of Monday.] A new branch of Belmont Savings Bank will be open for business tomorrow, Tuesday. New Bank Coming To Waltham

Belmont Savings Bank plans a new branch for Waltham.

Belmont Savings Bank is planning to open a new branch inside the Shaw's on Lexington Street, as well as a bsuiness banking officer. It's hours will be Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. On Saturday, the hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The company is aiming to open the new branch by May 1, according to a press ffrom Belmont Savings Bank. It will be the bank first branch in Waltham. The bank will have two ATMs and five staffers. “A key component of Belmont Savings Bank’s growth has been its partnerships with community businesses. Local Bank Donates To New Mental Health Center

New Waltham school will benefit from donation.

A local school is a little better off after receiving a $2,500 donation from Belmont Savings Bank Foundation. The donation will go toward residential services for The Guild For Human Services Center, which recently opened a new residence in Waltham, according to a press release. The Guild serves students that have autism, developmental disabilities or oth mental health issues, according to its Web site.
