Sidewalk Shoveling Requirement For Waltham?

The recent snowstorm left a lot of snow on city sidewalks and some residents did not clear the portions in front of their homes.

With the recent snowstorm dumping a heap of snow on the city's sidewalks, some Waltham Patch users have suggested an ordinance that requires residents to clear their sidewalks. Currently, the city does not have such an ordinance. Main Street property owners, however, are required to clear their sidewalks within 24 hours of snowfall ceasing. That regulation applies to both sides of the street from Prospect Hill Road to Linden Street. Newton is currently considering extending a two-year trial period that requires all property owners to clear snow from their sidewalk within 30 hoursof the snow falling. TELL US: Should Waltham adopt an ordinance to require property owners to shovel their sidewalks? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below…

Storm Moving into Waltham Area Tonight

The winter storm packed quite a punch down in the South; but what does it mean for Waltham?

The large winter storm that dropped inches of snow in the South is now headed towards the Northeast, although little snow accumulation is expected in Waltham. According to the National Weather Service's latest forecast, several inches of snow are expected to fall in the western part of the state tonight, but with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees in Waltham, the snow is expected to change over to rain or icy rain after midnight.  According to the WHDH 7Weather Blog, the snow will start tonight between 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and quickly turn to rain in the Boston area. Although there will be little accumulation, drivers should be cautious as roads could get icy.  Rain and snow is likely Thursday before 9 p.m., but accumulation will be …

Well, she said Mom, this is unbelievable!!! up in the sky are two huge red fireballs traveling side by side at an extreme speed. She came back into her home to get her cell to take a picture but they had disappeared behind the trees. Any other siting of comets this eve? This happened …   more ›
