Elderly Woman in Serious Condition After Waltham Crash

The victim was taken to a local hospital after the car she was driving hit a utility pole.

An 88-year-old woman is in serious condition after the car she was driving struck a utility pole at around 1:38 p.m., according to Waltham Police. The incident began when officers responded to a report of a car crashing into the pole at 135 Second Ave. Officers found the 2005 Buick Rendezvous had struck the police.  The woman was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries, according to police.  The Waltham Police Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.

I mean no disrespect in any way but 88 years old ? There has to be an age when people shouldn't drive anymore .... or a yearly driving/visual test after 75 or something ... I mean if a child was there, they'd be dead ... and I see some of these old timers going like 15 MPH down a 40 MPH road .. and swerving at that.. just glad my son wasn't playing in that area that day...   more ›

UPDATED: Elderly Woman Taken To Hospital After Waltham Crash

The crash took place on Second Avenue.

UPDATED, 3:12 p.m.: An 80-year-old woman was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment of her injuries in the crash, according to Waltham Police Sgt. Tim King. Police are on the scene reconstructing the crash, King said.  ------ Waltham firefighters are responding to a report of a car crash on Second Avenue, reportedly with serious injuries, according to scanner and Twitter reports. A car reportedly struck a utility pole near 135 Second Ave, according to Twitter reports.  Stay tuned to Waltham Patch for updates to this story.

Multiple Car Crash on Route 128

One person was taken to the hospital for injuries.

A multiple car crash has been reported on Route 128 southbound near exit 26, according to scanner and Waltham Police Twitter reports. A least 3 cars were involved in the crash and one person was taken to the hospital for their injuries, Waltham Police Sgt. Dennis Deveney tweeted. State Police also responded to the scene, Deveney tweeted.  Authorities have cleared the scene, Deveney tweeted.

Whenever I am first in line on Totten Pond Rd taking a left onto Lexington St I make sure I stay back more than one car length before the stop line, otherwise one can easily get hit by someone going north on Lexington St and turning left onto Totten Pond Rd.   more ›

Serious Car Crash At Waltham High School; 2 Taken to Hospital

A car went into the woods at Waltham High School.

UPDATED, 9:57 p.m.: A MedFlight helicopter landed at Waltham High School and transported another patient to the hospital Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. UPDATED, 9:40 p.m.: One patient has been extricated and taken to the hospital, while a second one has been removed as well. UPDATED: Arlington Woman Injured in Highway Crash in Waltham

Crash remains under investigation.

UPDATED, 5:19 p.m., June 3 with information from the victim, Julie Dumas: Dumas tells Waltham Patch in an e-mail that she only suffered abrasions and a broke clavicle. Also, she corrected prior police reports about the crash saying she is 38 years old and was actually driving a 2005 Honda Pilot. UPDATE, 8:20 p.m.: State Police have identified the driver as Julie Dumas, 39, of Arlington.  UPDATE, 4:30 p.m.: State Police have identified the driver of the truck as Rosen Helge from New Brunswick, Canda. He was not injured.  A 39-year-old Arlington woman sustained serious injuries on June 2 after a car crash on Route 128. Overnight Waltham Crash Causes Power Outages

One injured in crash.

An overnight vehicle crash on Third Avenue left one man injured and several surrounding buildings without power. As of 10:30 a..m., electricity crews were still working to restore power to nearby buildings and businesses, said Waltham Fire Lt. Michael Murphy, and to assure their fire alarm boxes are working properly. The incident started when a vehicle crashed into two utility poles at around 11:30 p.m. near 70 Third Ave., Murphy said. The vehicle, a pickup truck, stopped after hitting a third pole, according to Murphy. The first two poles snapped and the third cracked, Murphy said. Serious Crash On Trapelo Road In Waltham; Driver in Serious Condition

One victim taken to hospital.

One victim was taken to the hospital last night after the vehicle he was traveling in struck a utility pole near 643 Trapelo Road, according to scanner reports. The driver of the vehicle is in serious condition, according to FOX 25. Waltham firefighters repspnded to the scene of the single car crash at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 22, according to Waltham Patch coorespondent Matthew Carter, who tweeted reports of the crash. Firefighters worked for around 35 minute to extract transported him by ambulance to Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center in Boston, according to Carter. BREAKING NEWS: Four Car Accident on Route 128 In Waltham

Initial reports indicate those involved have non life threatening injuries.

Authorities are responding to a four car crash on Route 128 in Waltham this evening, according to State Police. The crash occured at 8:30 p.m. on the southbound side near exit 27, according to State Police. One car rolled over and a doctor who stopped at the scene suggested those injured sustained non-life threatening injuries. A Medflight helicopter is enroute to the scene.
