Waltham Residents Frustrated With Lack of Snow Clearing; Schools Closed

Many city roads were still covered in snow on Sunday.

As Waltham continues to dig out from the storm and residents go back to work, many city streets remained covered in snow on Sunday, Feb. 10. As a result, many Waltham residents are angry and say the city has done an inadequate job of plowing the roads, according to comments on Waltham Patch and its Facebook Page.  On Sunday evening, at least parts of Myrtle and Robbins streets were still covered in snow, according to tweets from Waltham residents. Which Waltham Roads Need Paving?

With state funding on its way, Waltham is slated to fix some roads -- but what areas need it the most?

Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Frank, A municipality can't stop a public utility from digging up a local roadway in the case of an emergency (e.g. gas leak). However, Waltham has an ordinance which prohibits anyone from excavating any roadway which has been rebuilt or resurfaced within the last three (3) years, unless they get special permission from the Waltham City Council. We very rarely give such permission. Robert G. …   more ›
