Pedestrian Struck By Car at Waltham High School

The accident occurred at around 7 a.m.

A pedestrian was struck by a car at the entrance to Waltham High School at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, according to Waltham Police's School Resource Officer Kristin Tracey. A 50-year old woman out for a morning walk was struck at the intersection of Lexington Street and the high school access road, Tracey said on her Twitter account. The victim was reportedly taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital, said Matthew Carter on his Twitter account. Carter tweets police and fire incidents.  The access road was closed for for a few minutes as Waltham Police and firefighters worked the scene. The road has now reopened.

Car Hits Pedestrian in Waltham; Victim Taken to Hospital

The victim is being taken to the hospital.

A woman has been taken to the hospital after being struck by a car on Hartwell Street at South Street, according to scanner and Twitter reports.  The woman was reportedly alert and conscious, according to scanner reports. Waltham's 911 Emergency Dispatch Center advised motorists, through Twitter, to avoid the area as police investigate the crash.
