Hearing for Waltham High School Security Guard Postponed

Jesse Holland, 23, of Garnder, is facing charges for possessing bomb-making materials.

The dangerousness hearing for a Waltham High School security guard arrested with bomb-making materials he allegedly stole from the school has been delayed, according to the Worcester County District Attorney spokesman Paul Jarvey. The hearing for Jesse Holland was originally set for March 6, but has been postponed to March 11, Jarvey told Waltham Patch. The hearing will be held at Leominster District Court.  Holland, 23, of Gardner, was arrested on Feb. 27 after police caught him with bomb-making materials he allegedly stole from the school. Holland reportedly told police he never intended to make a bomb from the materials.

Jesse Holland, 23, allegedly stole bomb-making materials from Waltham High School.

The Waltham High School security guard arrested with bomb-making items he allegedly stole from the school never made any specific threat to use the materials against anybody or a specific place, according to WBZ-TV.  Jesse Holland, 23, of Gardner, was arrested and charged on Feb. 27 with possession of a stun gun, possession of a class A drug and possession of an infernal machine (bomb-making materials). The suspect was arraigned in court on Feb. 27 and was ordered held pending a dangerousness hearing, according to a joint press release from Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy and Waltham Public Schools Superintendent Susan Nicholson.  Leominster Police Officer Shane Rodriguez, who arrested Holland, told WBZ-TV, “He expressed no intention or …

"School officials would not say whether Holland will be fired, according to WBZ-TV." As a former WHS parent, I think the community would feel more secure if we knew that this person was to be fired immediately, and the contract with his employer invalidated, or, at the very least, scrutinized and open to public scrutiny, as well.   more ›
