Waltham Girl Hit By Vehicle In Critical Condition; Driver In Accident Charged

Victims remains in intensive care unit.

The driver of the car that struck an 11-year-old Waltham girl on Friday is facing a criminal charge while the victim remains in critical condition. The victim, whose name has not been released, remains in critical condition at Massachusetts General Hospital where she is being treated for head, neck and upper body injuries, according to Waltham Police Sgt. Joseph Guigno. She remains in the pediatric intensive care unit, Guigno said. “She’s not doing well,” he said. Police have charged the driver, Laura Conti, of Winchester, with a criminal charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to Middlesex District Attorney Spokesman Jessica Pastore.
