Trial Delayed for Waltham Woman Accused in Hit-And-Run

Blanca Contreras, 29, is accused of motor vehicle homicide in the death of Scott Coxall.

The trial of a Waltham woman accused of killing a man in a car crash in 2011 has been postponed, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. The trial of Blanca Contreras, a 29-year-old native of Guatemala, had been scheduled to begin on March 6, but that date has been pushed back to June 13, according to DA spokesman Diane McDonald. She did not have information on the reason for the postponement. Contreras, who is in the United States illegally, is facing motor vehicle homicide charges in the November 2011 death of Scott Coxall, 39, of Waltham. Authorities believe Contreras was driving the car that struck and killed Coxall when he was crossing the intersection of School and Church streets at around 6 p.m. The car fled …

Waltham Dentist Allegedly Stole Thousands From Elderly Patient

The dentist, a Newton resident, is facing charges for allegedly bilking a Waltham woman.

A Waltham dentist has been charged with bilking more than $285,000 from an 84-year-old Waltham woman, according to court records. Ross Anapolle, 42, of 70 Pickwick Road, Newton, is facing one count of larceny over $250 by a single scheme, according to Waltham District Court records. He is scheduled to appear at a March 13 pre-trial hearing.  Anapolle previously operated a dentistry business in Waltham but has since vacated the site, according to Waltham Police Sgt. William Gallant. According to court records, Anapolle allegedly stole $286,164 using 83 checks from Aug. 2010 to Sept. 2012. Court records indicate Anapolle was billing the woman for work that was never performed. Police began investigating the fraud on Sept. 5, 2012, when a …

Waltham Man Faces Violent Charges

German Pizzaro, 41, of 247 Bacon St., is facing charges for rape, kidnapping, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and attempted murder, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office. Pizzaro was ordered held on bail pending a dangerousness hearing during an Oct. 26 arraignment hearing at Waltham District Court, according to the DA's office. His dangerousness hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9. Waltham Police arrested Pizzaro on Oct. 23, according to their arrest logs. Waltham District Court clerks refused to make the file available for review saying it was impounded due to the sensitive nature of the offenses.

Waltham Pot Bust Update: Suspect Wants Access To Alleged Pot Warehouse

All three accused will appear in court next month.

While the cases of three defendants involved in a recent marijuana-growing bust were continued until December, one of them is asking for access to his alleged growing warehouse. During a pre-trial hearing at Waltham District Court on Monday, Nov. 7, former Watertown Town Councilman Thomas “Gus” Bailey, 49, through his attorney, asked for permission to visit the 269 Lexington St. warehouse in Waltham where authorities say he and two other men were growing pot. Attorney Kevin Mahoney, who is representing Bailey, requested that Bailey be allowed into the warehouse to document any damage caused by police when they raided the site last month. Mahoney said his client also wants to take photographs and lockup the building if it not already …
