In A Pickle Aiming to Reopen Soon

In A Pickle plans to reopen on Moody Street soon.

Your craving for In A Pickle food will have to wait a little bit longer, but hopefully not much longer.  Tim Burke, owner of In A Pickle, a popular Waltham restaurant, is wrapping up a months-long renovation project at its new 265 Moody St. location and is aiming to reopen on Monday, April 15, or Tuesday, April 16. The restaurant is waiting to undergo three different inspections before it can reopen, Burke told Waltham Patch during an interview at the new spot.  In A Pickle recently closed its former Main Street location to move into the larger Moody Street location.  After months of work, Burke said he is eager to reopen and see his friendly customers again. Plaster Fun Time Chain Looking for Buyer to Expand

The chain currently operates nine studios in Massachusetts.

The owners of Plaster Fun Time announced last week they are seeking a buyer or investor for the nine-store chain. The plaster studio, which has a location in Waltham, allows patrons to paint pre-made plaster items, such as banks, plates, figurines and teapots. The locations are popular with camps, scout troops and birthday parties.  In a press release, the Plaster Fun Time owners said they are looking to extend their chain nationally and internationally.  For the full press release, check out the .pdf section to the right. Best Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Waltham

Waltham Bar Gets Two Week Suspension For Alcohol Violations

The License Commission could close the bar permanently if problems continue, officials say.

  The Waltham License Commission has suspended alcohol and food service at Guanachapi’s Bar & Grill on River Street after repeated liquor violations, according to Commissioner Robert Hardiman. The commission, at its Jan. 22 meeting, ordered the bar closed for two weeks for “repeat over-pouring,” Hardiman told Waltham Patch. The suspension lasts until Feb. 13, Hardiman said. The bar can reopen on Feb. 14.  Specifically, the suspension stems from two indicents in September and December 2012, in which drivers allegedly drove drunk after leaving Guanachapi's. Both drivers were later involved in accidents in Waltham. The bar’s owner, whom Hardiman could not recall, said he would not appeal the decision to the Massachusetts Alcohol Beverage …
