Closure would leave Waltham with two other Post Office locations.
The South Waltham Post Office is being studied for possible closing. The 38 Spruce St. office has been placed on a list of 42 other post offices statewide the U.S. Postal Service is studying for possible closure, as their revenues continue to decline. Even with the closure, Waltham would retain two other post offices on Lexington and Main Streets. “Our customer’s habits have made it clear that they no longer require a physical post office to conduct most of their postal business,” said Postmaster General Patrick Donohoe in a statement.
