The "Say Hi" campaign ended on Feb. 16.
After a week of community events, Waltham strengthened its community relationships by giving more than 2,600 ‘hi’ greetings for people who had not previously met their neighbor. REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, an organization that assists domestic violence victims, recorded 2,654 greetings as part of it’s Say Hi To Your Neighbors campaign intended to build and strengthen relationships among Waltham residents. The campaign kicked off on Feb. 5 and ended Feb. 16. “The week started off with a perfect way to bring neighbors together, a blizzard. Help a Waltham-based organization prevent domestic violence and build a greater sense of community!
Waltham-based REACH Beyond Domestic Violence kicked off its “Say Hi To You Neighbor” campaign intended to help build a greater sense of community Waltham. As part of the campaign, REACH, which assists domestic violence victims, has planned a series of events for Feb. 9 - 16 designed to build relationships between community residents and ultimately help prevent domestic violence. One of those of events includes a “Meet the Waltham Media” will be held on Feb. 15. REACH is aiming to have residents collectively issue at least 2,013 “Hi” greetings to neighbors. A local organization is seeking to build community relations in Waltham.
Waltham-based REACH Beyond Domestic Violence will kick off its “Say Hi” campaign today by honoring three local residents for their contributions to the community. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, REACH, which assists victims of domestic violence, will kick off its “Say Hi To Your Neighbors” campaign week which is intended to build community relations among neighbors, according to REACH. The event will be held at Back Pages Books at 289 Moody St. at 5:30 p.m. REACH, during the event, will also honor four members of the Waltham community: In A Pickle owner Tim Burke, Brand New Watch blogger Jim Walker, Jim Preston and Dan Reedy. Keeping saying hello!
Saying hello to Waltham neighbors was more than just a perfunctory custom last week. Say Hi To Your Neighbor Week surpassed its goal of 2012 “hello” greetings last week. About 2,136 hello greetings were made last week as part of REACH Beyond Domestic Violence’s “Say Hi To Your Neighbor Week.” The event was intended to create a stronger sense of community and awareness of support for domestic violence victims. "Say Hi" week moving along!
REACH Beyond Domestic Violence's "Say Hi To Your Neighbor" Week is racking up the "hellos." As of yesterday, REACH had about 374 greetings, with many more not yet counted, according to REACH Comunity Organizer Allison Berry, as she canvassed Moody Street saying hello to pedestrians. They are aiming to get 2012. The "Say Hi" week is part of REACH's Small Actions Campaign intended to create a greater sense of community in Waltham and help prevent domestic violence. Yesterday afternoon, Berry and volunteers Roberta Factor and Jim Preston walked Moody Street passing out small cards that read "hi" in both English and Spanish and talking to people about the campaign. You might have passed them as you leave your house in the morning or seen them when you retrieve your mail, but never actually spoken with them. Your neighbors, that is. Well, here is your chance to change that and help a good cause. REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, a Waltham organization that helps victims of domestic violence, is launching its “Small Actions Campaign,” intended to get community residents more involved with efforts to prevent domestic violence, according to REACH Community Organizer Allison Berry.
