New discount goods store replaces former AJ Wright store.
The new Ocean State Job Lot Store in Waltham officially opens on July 12 at 9 a.m. with a grand opening ceremony, according to the company. The store, located at 90 River St., replaces the former AJ Wright store which closed in early 2011. The new Ocean State store opened days ago, but Thursday marks the official opening. Mayor Jeanette McCarthy along with City Councilors Gary Marchese and Thomas Stanley will open the store at 9 a.m. along with Ocean State officials, according to a company press release. To celebrate the opening, the company plans to doante 23 pallets of food to the Boston Medical Center Food Pantry.

Ocean State Job Lot is located at 90 River St. in Waltham
Ocean State Job Lot, a discount retailer, plans to open its doors this afternoon, according to its Facebook page and a sign in its window. The new store takes over the space AJ Wright vacated in January of 2011 and fills out the shopping complex at 90 River St. A grand opening is scheduled for July 12, according to the Facebook page. Ocean State is the latest in a series of stores or restuarants coming to Waltham including Chipotle, Five Guys, and Panera Bread have all announced new locations in Waltham. The proposed development at the former Polaroid site includes plans for retail stores.

Discount retailer will take over old AJ Wright Site.
Discounter retailer Ocean State Job Lot is coming to Waltham. The company is planning a store for 90 River St., the site of the former AJ Wright location that closed in early 2011. According their Facebook Page and company website, Ocean State Job Lot is now accepting applications for employment, and plans to open sometime soon. The retailer is known for heavy discounts on many items from towels to vacum cleaners and has 44 other stores across Massachusetts.
