Police are still searching for the second suspect.
Police have one suspect in custody this afternoon after an armed home invasion on Falmouth Road in Newton, near the Waltham line. According to Newton Police Officer Eric Rosenbaum, police responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Friday after a resident reported an armed home invasion involving two masked men with 12-inch knife. Rosenbaum said two people were in the home at the time of the incident. One victim, a male, heard a noise at the back of the house and when he went to investigate, he spotted the suspects coming into the home. There was a brief struggle between the victim and a suspect, Rosenbaum said, before the victim was able to flee to a neighbor's house. Newton Police responded to a home on Falmouth Road in Newton this afternoon after a home invasion had been reported. Scanner reports said one suspect was described as a tall, skinny black male in his 20s with a black shirt and baggy pants. The other suspect was described as a heavy white male with black pants. Trio will be arraigned at a later date.
Three men have been indicted by a Middlesex County Superior Court grand jury in connection with a Newton home invasion. Vincenzo Alonge, 22, and Richard Siciliano, 29, both of Waltham, and Melvin Jimenez, 27, of Burlington, were indicted yesterday according to Middlesex District Attorney Spokesman Jessica Pastore. Alonge and Siciliano appeared in Newton District Court last month and faced charges of armed burglary, use of a firearm in a felony and carrying a firearm without a license. Jiminez was charged with armed burglary and held on $5,000 cash bail. A superior court arraignment date has not yet been set for the three men. Two Waltham men allegedly involved in a Newton home invasion were ordered held without bail today, while a third suspect had his bail set at $5,000 cash bail. Newton District Court Judge Sarah Singer ordered Vincenzo Alonge, 22, and Richard Siciliano, 29, both of Waltham, held without bail during a dangerousness hearing on Thursday, Jan. 5. Singer set the bail for Melvin Jimenez, 27, of Burlington, at $5,000 cash, with two conditions. Jimenez, if he posts bail, must submit to house arrest and wear a GPS monitoring bracelet. According to his attorney, he was raised in Waltham. The trio’s next hearing is scheduled for Jan. 24. The three men appeared in Newton District Court yesterday for a dangerousness hearing.
Police have arrested a third Waltham man in connection with a West Newton home invasion that occurred in the early morning hours of Dec. 30. Melvin Jiminez, 27, appeared alongside Vincenzo Alonge and Richard Siciliano in Newton District Court yesterday for a dangerousness hearing. That hearing was continued to later this afternoon. According to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office, Jiminez was arrested Dec. 30 on charges of armed burglary. He was arraigned Tuesday in Newton District Court and held pending the dangerousness hearing. Authorities allege that Alonge and Siciliano broke into an apartment on Harvey Place early Friday morning while Jiminez sat in a white Audi and acted as a lookout. Although police initially …
