Waltham Residents Angry With Work At Polaroid Site

Also, developers named a new tenant for the site.

Abutters of the planned retail complex at the former Polaroid site loudly denounced the project during a Jan. 24 public meeting saying blasting at the site was causing damage to their homes. Blasting company officials, however, said they are operating within the laws. The brouhaha emerged during a Thursday, Jan. 24 meeting with project officials for the complex, currently known as 1265 Main St. The project will span 280,000 square feet with 100,000 square feet of office space. Construction at the site is slated to begin in May or June, according to J & Co. Project Manager Rick Vallarelli. Developers previously said they expect phase one of the build out, including the planned Market Basket, will partially open by the end of 2013. As with …

City leaders and developers will hold a public meeting tonight on the planned retail complex at the former Polaroid site at 1265 Main St. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Arthur J. Clark Government Center at 119 School St., according to SPC Main St. LLC's blog. SPC Main St. LLC is the developer.  The meeting is open to the public and questions are welcome. The site is being developed into a retail and office complex. Market Basket, TD Bank, Bonefish Grill, Starbucks and others are planned for the site.

The developers of the former Polaroid site will hold a community meeting soon. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Arthur J. Clark Government Center at 119 School St., according to SPC Main St. LLC's blog. SPC Main St. LLC is the developer.  The meeting is open to the public and questions are welcome. The site is being developed into a retail and office complex. Market Basket, TD Bank, Bonefish Grill, Starbucks and others are planned for the site.

Market Basket, Others Confirmed as Waltham Polaroid Site Tenants

Construction on buildings at the complex may begin in 2013.

Several tenants have now been confirmed for the retail/office development at the former Polaroid site, according to an announcement from the mayor's office. Market Basket, Bonefish Grille, TD Bank, Marshalls, Starbucks, and Jake & Joes (a sports bar and grill) have all been confirmed, according to an announcement from RMD Retail Management & Development, provided to Waltham Patch by the mayor's office. A Market Basket in Waltham?

Market Basket may come to Waltham.

The developer of the former Polaroid site is in negotiations to locate a Market Basket grocery store at the site, according to the Boston Globe. Developer Sam Park told Globe that he is discussing with DeMoulas Supermarkets Inc., Market Basket's parent company, possibly opening a store at the site. The project, however, is proceeding slowly, according to the Globe. Park told newspaper that it could be another year before construction work begins on new stores at the site, which is slated to be a mixed-use development. Moving utility lines at the site has slowed the work, according to the Globe. The electric company will not allow the lines to be reconnected to another part of the site during the winter and summer because of high power …
