Waltham Arrest Log, Dec. 25 - 28: Breaking and Entering Arrests

The following information was supplied by the Waltham Police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Dec. 25 -no arrests Wednesday, Dec. 26 -no listed arrests Thursday, Dec. 27 Neil Coiley, 51, of Arlington, arrested and charged with violating an abuse prevention order. Thomas Dibenedetto, 41, of 21 High Rock Circle, arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and breaking and entering a building (night time) for felony.  Chad Curll, 28, of 72 Organe St., arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery. Middlesex Sheriff Announces New Crime-Fighting Tool

Local police agencies will now have access to more information on prison inmates.

Middlesex County law enforcement agencies now have an additional tool to fight crime - more and easier access to information about prison inmates.  The Middlesex County Sheriff's office recently unveiled MIDNet, the Massachusetts Inmate Data Network, which allows police officers to access information on inmates in hopes of bolstering public safety, according to the Sheriff's office.  MIDNet allows officers to find information on an inmate's status, charges, identifying marks, aliases and other information from other correctional facilities, including state Department of Correction facilties. WALTHAM PATCH STORM CENTER, UPDATES, CLOSINGS & MORE: 7:50 p.m.:     With a winter storm heading toward Waltham, a snow emergency has been declared for 6 p.m. on Dec. 29. The declaration means on-street parking is prohibited, according to the Waltham 911 Dispatch Center Twitter feed. Cars left on the street are subject to being towed, according to Michael Chiasson, the Director of the Consolidated Public Works Department. Waltham Man Indicted For Attempted Murder, Rape

A Waltham man is facing serious, violent charges in connection with an October incident.

A Middlesex Superior Court grand jury has indicted a 41-year-old Waltham man on serious violent charges in connections with an October incident, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office.  German Pizzaro, 41, of 247 Bacon St. was indicted on the following charges: two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, rape, making threats and attempted murder. The indictment means the case will move to superior court, where it could go to trial and the defendant would face more serious charges.

Waltham Arrest Log, Dec. 20 - 21: Attempted Murder Arrest

The following information was supplied by the Waltham Police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 20 Michael Difilippo, 27, of 520 Main St., arrested and charged with assault and battery and attempted murder. Friday, Dec. 21 Julie-Ann Politis, 35, of 52 Whitman Rd., arrested and charged with shoplifting by asportation. Josue Torres, 61, of 290 Bacon St., arrested and charged with failing to use a signal and driving with a license revoked as an habitual traffic offender.

Wayland Frozen Yogurt Business Expanding to Waltham

Just months after opening their first Frozen Yogurt Innovations (FYI) location, a Wayland family business is expanding to Waltham.

The Cohn family brought frozen yogurt to Wayland just seven months ago, but is already looking ahead to a second location of Frozen Yogurt Innovations in Waltham. The self-serve frozen yogurt shop, which has been a popular Wayland dessert stop since its opening in May 2012, plans to open a new store at the Main Street Marketplace in Waltham. Susan Cohn, co-owner of FYI, said the new Waltham location will be a larger version of the location on the corner of East Plain Street and Main Street in Wayland. "It's a great space, a great location," Cohn said.
