Boston Navy Week Means Tall Ships, Blue Angels and Parking Headaches

See the schedule of events for Boston Navy Week and the parking and road restrictions.

Boston always puts on a show for the Fourth of July but this year Boston Navy Week - with the Tall Ships - makes it a week long extravaganza.  The event helps commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. Ships have docked all around Boson Harbor, including at the Charlestown Navy Yard near Old Ironsides, the Fish Pier and Massport's Marine Terminal in South Boston.  The public can tour the old tall ships, get a glimpse of modern war ships including the USS Wasp aircraft carrier and the destroyer USS Gravely, Coast Guard ships and ships from other countries. The Blue Angels will perform an air show on July 4, and there will be demostrations by the Leapfrogs, the Navy's parachute team.  Here is the schedule of events for Boston Navy…

July 4 Celebrations Scheduled For Waltham

Fireworks will be held at Leary Field.

Waltham is hosting two July 4 celebrations this year, according to the city's website. From 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on July 4, a family celebration will be held at Prospect Hill Park. Activities include pony rides, music, food, drinks and more!  Also, Profile, a band, will perform at 5:30 p.m. at Leary Field. A fireworks shows follows at 9:30 p.m. The field is at the intersection of Bacon and Dale Streets.  For additional information, contact 781-314-3100.
