Planned Waltham Burrito Restaurant Raises Parking Concerns

Boloco is planning to open a burrito store at 475 Winter St. in Waltham.

The plan to propose a Boloco burrito store on Winter Street drew some concerns over parking from Waltham City Councilors during a Monday, Aug. 6 public hearing at Waltham City Hall.  Boloco, a Boston-based company whose named stands for "Boston Local Company," has proposed opening a new store at 475 Winter St. The company, during a public hearing with the Waltham City Council on Monday, requested a special permit to operate a fast food permit.  “They are very excited to be coming into the Waltham community,” said Boloco's attorney, Joseph M. Connors. STORE SPECIFICATIONS COUNCILOR'S CONCERNS/THOUGHTS The matter was referred to the council's Ordinance & Rules Committee for further discussion at its Sept. 17 meeting.

Boloco Still Planning Waltham Store, Plans Could Still Crumble

Boloco, a burrito chain, is planning to open a store in Waltham.

Months after announcing they were looking to open a shop in Waltham, Boloco, the burrito chain, will present its proposal to the Waltham City Council next month, according to the company's chief executive officer. Attorneys for Boloco will present the company's proposal during an Aug. 6 public hearing for a fast food permit at the Waltham City Council meeting, according to the city's clerks office. The hearing will start at 7 p.m. In accordance with past practices, the Council will likely refer the proposal to a subcommittee for further discussion. Bob, Thanks for weighing in on this. I think approving the permits without much oversight is a recipe for disaster, which people would then complain about.   more ›
