The following is a letter to the editor from a Waltham resident. From Massachusetts to California, and Oregon to Ohio, citizens throughout the country voted overwhelmingly on Nov. 6 for their legislators to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission ruling and declare that only human beings – not corporations – are entitled to constitutional rights and that money is not speech and campaign spending can be regulated. Here in Massachusetts, voters in 120 towns (about 1/3 the population of the state) voted on the non-binding resolution that instructed their state senator or state representative to support a constitutional amendment affirming that 1) corporations are not …
