Lincoln woman dies in serious rollover accident. Police searching for driver.
An Allston man is wanted for questioning by State Police after he fled the emergency room following a deadly three-car rollover accident yesterday on Rte. 128 in Waltham. Neil Connolly, 44, of Allston, was traveling southbound on Rte. 128 just after 3 p.m. Saturday when he swerved his Lexus, causing it to roll over and hit a Subaru operated by Faye Goldberg-Scheff, 53, of Lincoln, according to a State Police spokesman. Goldberg-Scheff’s vehicle was then struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Raymond Birch, 49, of Kingston, NH. Goldberg-Scheff, a licensed speech pathologist, was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where she was pronounced dead, State Police said. Injuries reported in accident.
A serious multi-car rollover has closed Route 128, near exit 27, according to State Police. As of 3:30 pm, one person remained trapped in their car, according to State Police Sergeant Michael Popovics. A Medflight helicopter has arrived on the scene, Popovics said. According to police scanner reports, the aircraft will transport one victim to a Boston hospital, and another has been brought to Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton. A third victim has been removed from a vehicle, but his status is unclear, according to scanner reports. State Police are assessing the situation and could not comment on the number of cars involved or the medical condition of any victims. Victim claims a car ran her off of the road.
The victim of yesterday morning's vehicle rollover in Andover has been released from the hospital. Jennifer Baglio, a 23-year-old Bright Street resident was taken to Lawrence General Hospital at around 9:30 a.m. yesterday after the car she was driving southbound on Interstate 495 rolled off of the road, according to State Police Trooper Sean Lewis, whose agency is investigating the crash. "I'm doing OK. Sore and bruised, but OK," Baglio said in a brief telephone interview. "I was wearing my seatbelt and it saved my life. I'm very lucky that I was able to walk away from it with only a few bumps and bruises."
