Former Watertown Town Councilman Thomas "Gus" Bailey is charged with laundering money in the pot-growing ring he was allegedly running in Waltham.
Three people charged with money laundering in connection with the alleged Waltham pot-growing ring pleaded not guilty on at the John Joseph Moakley Courthouse in Boston on July 13, according to court documents. Former Watertown Town Councilman Thomas "Gus" Bailey and his ex-wife, Barbara Waldman, both pleaded not guilty to new charges of money laundering, according to court documents. Bailey also pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to manufacture as well as distributing marijuana. Eric Falzon, of Newton, also pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute marijuana. Former Watertown Town Councilman Thomas "Gus' Bailey is facing additional charges for money laundering in connection with the marijuana growing operation he and several others are accused of running, according to federal court documents. Bailey now faces a new charge of laundering the proceeds of the marijuana operation, according to court documents. His ex-wife, Barbara Waldman, is facing the same charge along two other defendants, Matthew Fox and Nicole Coman. Eric Falzon, of Newton, and Clay Gollobin, of Brookline residents, also faces charges in the pot growing. The ex-wife of former Watertown Town Councilor Gus Bailey who faces drug charges was arrested for alleged money laundering.
Federal authorities arrested three more people in connection to the drug case involving former Watertown Town Councilor Gus Bailey, including his ex-wife. Barbara Waldman, of Watertown, was one of three people arrested Wednesday. Watertown Police confirmed that Bailey's ex-wife was arrested. According to documents filed at the Federal Court in Boston Waldman faces three counts of conspiracy to commit money laundering. Also arrested were Mary Nicole Coman of Revere and Matthew Fox of Foxborough. Coman faces a charge of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana, three counts of conspiracy to commit money laundering and a charge of criminal forfeiture, according to court documents.
