Waltham Man Sentenced for Worcester Bank Robbery

The man previously pleaded guilty to the charges related to the robbery.

A 30-year-old Waltham man has been sentenced to state prison for allegedly robbing a Worcester bank in October 2012, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. David Hathaway was sentenced to two years to two years and a day in state prison to be followed by five years of probation. A Worcester Superior Court judge handed down the sentence during a Wednesday, May 15 hearing.  Hathaway previously pleaded guilty to two counts of unarmed robbery, one for the bank and the other for the supermarket, according to the newspaper.  Hathaway robbed a bank and supermarket on Boylston Street in Worcester on Oct. 11, 2012, according to the newspaper. Waltham Couple Arrested for Watertown Bank Robbery

Watertown Police tracked the two alleged bank robbers to a hotel in Brockton.

Watertown Police detectives have arrested a Waltham couple suspected of robbing a Citizens Bank branch in Watertown on Monday, Dec. 3. Justin W. O’Connell, 28, and Erin R. Aspinwall, 29, both of of 49 Derby St. Apt. 1 in Waltham, each face a charge of unarmed robbery, according to Watertown Police.  O'Connell allegedly approached a teller at the bank inside the Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street shortly after 10 a.m. on Monday, showed a note asking for money and left the store. He tried to hide in the trunk of a car driven by Aspinwall, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn. The bank had a surprise for the robbers, however. UPDATE: Police Searching for Watertown Bank Robber

Police are seeking a couple who reportedly robbed the Citizens Bank location inside a Watertown supermarket.

[UPDATE: 1:08 p.m.] Police continue to search for a man suspected of robbing the Citizens Bank branch inside the Stop & Shop on Pleasant Street in Watertown. They received the initial call about the robbery at 10:11 a.m. on Monday, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.  "Officers discovered a white male entered the store and displayed a note to the teller demanding cash," Lawn said. "An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the male. He fled the store, and was last observed heading toward North Street in Waltham." The suspect did not have a weapon and no one hurt during the incident, Lawn said. [UPDATE: 11:03 a.m.] The Stop & Shop supermarket remains open after the robbery, but the Citizens Bank branch in the store has been cordoned …
