Tomorrow, New England Patriots wide receiver Matthew Slater and offensive lineman Donald Thomas will deliver books donated by Patriots fans at Sunday's Patriots vs. Cardinals game to local children and their volunteer educators.

The visit is part of the Patriots’ week-long focus on educational volunteerism in conjunction with the season-long Celebrate Volunteerism campaign. Players will deliver books to children, recognize deserving volunteers and highlight the importance of education while reading a children’s book to the children in attendance. The Patriots Difference Maker of the Week, Jeanne Foster, a volunteer from uAspire, will also be recognized in a special ceremony. uAspire aims to help young people and their families find affordable ways to pay for college.

Matthew Slater will also kick off his efforts to recruit education volunteers as the Patriots’ representative of Team NFL/United Way.  Across the country, NFL players are teaming up with United Way to recruit one million volunteer readers, tutors and mentors.

The event takes place tomorrow, Tuesday, at 3:30 p.m. at the Waltham Boys and Girls Club, 20 Exchange Street.
