4 Tips for a new year new you

So the New Year is in full swing and I want you to succeed in creating the new you. New priorities should be in check and we should be hitting the gym on a regular basis. But the gyms are packed during peak hours and you are thinking that this might not be all it’s cracked up to be. Sooner or later that car is going to take a left turn instead of right turn to the gym. I don’t want you to be a New Year’s statistic. So I want you to check to see if you have a good plan to make fitness a part of your life.

#1 Schedule your workouts just like an appointment and if you miss one make it up. You should at least be going to 2-3 days to see results.

#2  Get a workout partner. If you don’t have someone to workout with hire a trainer. They are affordable to almost everyone.  Even if it is just once a week so that you may learn proper form and technique it is well worth it. (ask me for tips what to look for in a good trainer)

#3 Change your diet don’t look at it as a diet but a new way of living. Start small by getting rid of soda, pasta, bagels or toast and then work from there. For if you are looking to lose weight you must cut back on the carbs. No matter how many hours you put in the gym if you are not eating healthy you will not get what you are looking for.

#4 Make sure you do resistance training (Weights/body weights). Cardio is for what its name pertains to which is your cardiovascular system. It allows you to have more stamina gets your heart rate to rest lower when not being exerted. But if you are looking to tone up and or get defined but not big lol. You must lift weights! This is the only way that your muscles will change on a cellular level.

I could go on but this is a good start for most people. I would be happy to answer any questions people have and will continue on with this next week. Work hard!
