Back to School WishList

I was able to take care of the school supplies requested for first and fourth graders by cyber shopping on Amazon and with a quick trip to Staples. I have promised my two sons new basketball sneakers in time for basketball, and otherwise just bought them new underwear and socks, because, after all, they are boys who insist on wearing clothes that make them look like they are trying out for some kind of crazy multi-sports team: favorite outfits include high black socks, crazily patterned shorts, and a Boston sports team T-shirt. 
My own wish list for the year is more complex and will be harder to get, since it relies on many other people, who may or may not want the same things. 
-I want to know that our superintendent supports stability and our principals
-I want a School Committee that is involved and engaged with parents, principals, the superintendent, and the students
-Manageable and Consistent channels of communication
-I would really, really like it if Beal Road between Barbara and Chafee could be made One Way only during school hours
- And maybe making the intersection of Warren and Beaver a three-way stop
-A principal who supports our teachers
- A creative and viable plan to address overcrowding at the elementary schools with implementation of steps that are not too disruptive taken after Christmas break
- For parents at other schools to feel empowered to contact the School Committee and/or the Superintendent to discuss their own issues, instead of complaining loudly that the Fitzgerald "gets all the attention"
