And they did it!

Dr. Nicholson and the team of parents and teachers on the interview committee met the very ambitious goal of selecting and hiring an interim principal for the Fitzgerald.  Dr. David Castelline will take the helm in the fall.  He has experience as an elementary school principal in Newton and was a phys ed teacher during his teaching career.  The last several years he has spent in leadership training, which helps to fill Dr. Nicholson's stated goal of improving leadership tracks in the Waltham School District.

I am relieved that we have a qualified principal in place before the start of the school year.  This will definitely help with the transition.  And now energy can be focused on finding a long-term principal who will be a good fit in the district and the school.
