Public Education & Local Aid $ Boost!!!

Waltham Local Aid Boost

Waltham Local Aid increasing almost $1m in FY15!  Rep. Lawn and I today voted for a Local Aid Resolution that commits a nearly $1 million increase in public education and unrestricted local aid.  The Resolution commits $9,012,826 in public education (Ch. 70) an increase of $704,140 over FY14 levels ($8,308,686), and $8,544,931 in Unrestricted General Government Aid (UGGA) an increase of $230,573 over FY14 levels ($8,314,358).

Today is a good day for Waltham taxpayers.  As a Way and Means Committee member, Local Aid is always one of my top priorities when the Committee is drafting the House budget.  I am very happy that the Legislature has shown strong support for increased Public Education and Local Aid funding in the FY15 budget.  These funds will help the City of Waltham continue to provide public education and essential public safety services.
