Where Do Drivers Speed Most in Waltham?

Let's see if there's a consensus.

We all know there are spots where people tend to speed in Waltham?

Tell us in the comments section which are the most dangerous and might need a raised section, another stop sign, more crosswalks or another measure to slow down traffic. Then, next Wednesday, we'll run a poll based on the top five answers we received in the callout.

Lake Street, definitively! They are hitting close to 50 mph by the time they hit the fire station coming down. Over 40 mph coming up the street. Can't get in or out of our driveway for 5-10 minutes, depending on the time of day - longer! Even with blinkers and turn signals, I swear someone is going to ram me from behind one day. Lake Street has turned into a bypass for Trapelo Road, and they want to put another 80 cars on it? The road wasn't built for major traffic patterns.

Drivers are definitely speeding down Lake Street and Lincoln Street. They tailgate too trying to push the driver ahead to faster speeds. Something needs to be done about this problem. It is dangerous for all of us, pedestrians, pets, children, etc... It is often difficult to cross Lake Street and Lincoln Street as a pedestrian. They are on their phones and/or texting as they speed along. This is dangerous behavior. Waltham police please take notice of our concerns.

Lake and Lincoln_ cars hit 60 mph starting from Linden St and running down Waverly Oaks. If the Beaver St light is green, you better hold onto your hat.

Lowell Street is pretty bad...it's basically a straightaway and people fly down it.

Cedarwood Avenue and Villa Street. Oh, and if you're going to ask "Where do non-Waltham residents go thru red lights?" Intersection of Rte 20/Cedarwood Avenue. scary.

Definitely Lake St! It's completely out of control. I would like to see a speed trap from time to time to slow things down. With the park and thickly settled area it's only a matter of time before someone is hurt or worse.
