Brandeis Alum Heading to 2012 Olympics

Tim Morehouse will be competing in fencing events.

alumnus Tim Morehouse, 33, is heading to the 2012 Olympic Games this summer, according to the school.

Morehouse, a fencer, is the college’s first Olympian. This summer will be his third Olympic games, according to an article posted on the Brandeis University website. Morehouse, a 2000 graduate of Brandeis University from New York, won a silver medal for the saber event at the 2008 games in Beijing. 

This year, Morehouse will be competing in the men’s team saber event as well as the men’s individual saber, according to NBC’s Olympics website.

  • The individual tournament takes place on Sunday, July 29, and will be shown online beginning at 5:25 a.m. The semifinal and final will be shown online beginning at 12:55 p.m.
  • The men’s team sabre competition will be held Friday, Aug. 3, and will be shown beginning at 6:30 a.m. online. The medal round will begin at 1 p.m. and will be shown online.
