Waltham's Thomas Player Heading South to Play Professionally

Kyle Thomas signed to play for the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays.

Waltham’s Kyle Thomas’s road to playing in the NHL is heading to South Carolina but it may end up taking him back home to play for the Bruins.

Thomas, who graduated from Norwich University, signed to play with the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston, S.C., a team in the ECHL, according to a story in the Boston Globe. The club is a minor league team affiliated with the Boston Bruins.

He scored 68 goals and had 58 assists at Norwich, and helped the team reach four straight NCAA Division 3 Frozen Fours. His professional career begins in October when he reports to the team.
