The Waltham Public Schools district is aiming to rectify its non-compliance with a state review of the schools by the start of October.
In the wake of the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education downgrading the district’s , the Waltham Public Schools have hired a temporary staffer, Audrey Seyffert, to submit a plan to resolve the issue by the end of the month deadline, according to Waltham Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Susan Nicholson. The deadline could be extended a few days, she said.
“We are on track for submission at the end of September,” Nicholson said.
Nicholson announced the development during last night’s School Committee meeting.
The problem arose when the DESE conducted its Coordinated Public Review in the district, which assures that schools are following education requirements set by the state.
Seyffert, who , has only been hired to complete the report, and will cease her Waltham employment when she completes it, according to Nicholson.
