New Year's Evolution

It is a New Year. We usually make resolutions, but this year, I want to see an evolution of the South Side of Waltham. As a resident of Waltham for over 20 years in Waltham, I am passionate about positive changes to the South Side of Waltham. Therefore, I would like to see an evolution of this part of the city.

I am glad to know that Gilmore Park will be getting a facelift this year in the spring. I would also like to see something in the works for Thompson Park, which has a fabulous water park during the summertime for children but needs to be redone also to become a safe area for children again. Perhaps Thompson Park could become a good city project for 2014.

I love how the old South Middle School is becoming a community center. That is a great idea. Meanwhile, Moody Street has began to come along. Unfortunately, there are still some storefronts which are empty. Hopefully some great stores will move in there soon. These are the times we live in. The bad economy is responsible for this. If we can all help each other, and work together, then we can get through it. If people care about their community and the quality of life, this will benefit us through the rough times.
