UPDATED: Whittemore Elementary School Principal Leaving Waltham Schools

Deborah Butts's resignation takes affect on June 30.

UPDATED, with information for the Whittemore website: The following note now appears on the school's website saying a copy of it was sent to parents on May 18.

"Dear Whittemore Community (Family, staff, students and friends);

After months of contemplation and thoughtful deliberation, I am resigning as the Principal of the Henry Whittemore Elementary School effective June 30, 2012.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the four years I have spent in the Waltham Public Schools.  However, I believe this is a time Whittemore School will benefit from a change in leadership. I will sorely miss the students, family and staff upon my departure.  I have been fiercely loyal to the school community and completely committed to the position as Principal of the school.  Until June 30th, I will continue to make decisions and plan for the upcoming school year with the students’ best interests at the center of every decision.
