Dr. Molly McMahon, currently the assistant principal at the Fitzgerald Elementary School in Waltham, has been hired as Principal of the South Row School in Chelmsford.
McMahon was appointed by Superintendent of Schools Frank Tiano after an extensive search process, according to a press release from the Chelmsford Public Schools. One of two finalists brought by the superintendent to a panel of administrators, parents and teachers, Dr. McMahon competed with over fifty applicants.
Dr. McMahon is a 2010 graduate of Boston College with her Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration. Previously, she had earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology (Minor in Elementary Education) from Villanova University and a Master of Science degree in Advanced Teaching from Northwestern University.
Prior to her arrival in Waltham, she held several teaching and educational leadership positions. She had led the Waltham school since 2009.
A recent resident of Chelmsford, Dr. McMahon has been greatly impressed with our community at large. Given that experience and her research into South Row, she enthusiastically looks forward to being an integral part of their school community.
