TELL US: Lower College Tuition For Illegal Immigrants?

Tell us what you think of Gov. Deval Patrick's recent announcement on illegal immigrants attending state universities.

Massachusetts officials have announced they will now allow illegal immigrants to pay the in-state tuition rate to attend any one of the state's 29 public universities instead of the higher out-of-state rate., according to Boston.com

Immigrants, however, must obtain a federal work permit to qualify for the in-state rate, according to Boston.com. The announcement comes months after President Obama temporarily halted deportations for people under 30.

What do you think? Should illegal immigrants be allowed to pay the in-state rate?

Are you serious!!!! Will this state ever vote out these creeps. I'm tired of working more for less pay because of illegal immigrant handouts.

Immigration laws are very strict and are strictly enforced in other countries, including Canada and Mexico. There are strict laws in place here. They just are not enforced. Why should Massachusetts tax payers pay for the education of illegals? Why should people who work hard, get in line, pay what's necessary to come here legally be made to feel that they have wasted their time and money doing right just so that politicians can be guaranteed a block of voters?

I agree. Have the parents paid taxes? The tuition breaks seem unwarranted to me.

Patrick is a liberal idiot and Obama clone who will try to get away with whatever he wants to, and doesn't care what anyone else thinks. He's not running for governor again, and has nothing to lose, Americans who live in New Hampshire or Rhode Island can't go to UMass on a cut rate, but fence-jumpers can? ILLEGAL GO HOME!!!

The argument is always that the children didn't break any laws so why should they suffer...well, why should my children suffer? I can't afford out-of-state tuition for them, I have all the same arguments illegal immigrants have, only I have not broken any laws. You would think if anyone were to receive a lower rate based on their status, that it would be the children of legal citizens and legal immigrants, NOT children of criminals. What lesson does this teach the parents who committed the felony of breaking into a country unlawfully? It teaches them that there are zero consequences, but rather rewards for doing so. If you voted Democrat- this is what you voted for.
