Locally, Waltham topped Belmont, Bedford, Brookline, Weston and in the ratings published on Oct. 13. Boston Latin Academy was ranked in the top slot.
The Globe used MCAS math growth rates, ELA MCAS growth rates, graduation, and dropout rates and whether students plan to go to college. They also used college readiness expenditure per pupil and diversity.
