Brandeis Announces 2014 Commencement Speaker

The university also announced its honorary degree recipients.

Geoffrey Canada, the president and CEO of Harlem’s Children’s Zone, will give Brandeis University’s commencement address in 2014, according to a recent university release.

The Harlem Children’s Zone project targets a 100-block area in Central Harlem, providing more than 10,000 children educational, social and medical services from birth through college. Canada, who is resigning from his post this summer after two decades, will also receive an honorary degree from the university at the commencement ceremonies on May 18.
