Clean and simple design - make it easy for your visitors

Keep it simple, yet effective.  Your design should be simple, easy to read and should have an updated look.  If you are using left hand navigation, if your website is left aligned or if you have dancing toasters, you should consider a new design for your website. 

If you have a website for your business, these guidlines are essential.  Your design needs to represent your brand.  For most people now, your website is your brand.  So if you don't represent yourself correctly on your website, you may be loosing customers with each click. 

A great example is one of my latest website launches, Warren's Masonry.  The website is easy to use, well organized and the design conveys his brand properly.  The visuals and the content really say what he does.
