What's Up With Waltham Parking Pay Stations?

Have you ever gone to one of the paid parking stations on Moody Street and discovered, sadly, that you cannot use your debit or credit to pay for parking?

Well, that is going to change soon, according to Waltham's Traffic Engineer J. Michael Garvin.

On Sept. 19, the Waltham Traffic Commission approved adding the ability to use your credit or debit card to pay for parking at some of the city's municipal lots, Garvin said. That includes: the Waltham Public Library lot, the Spruce Street lot and the MBTA Commuter rail lot off of Moody Street (the city leases some of the spaces in the MBTA lot).

The capability, proposed by Waltham City Councilor Robert Logan, will be installed sometime after the Council approves funding for it, Garvin said.
