Confused about how to get rid of that post-Hurricane Irene debris?

Here is the answer — put it outside on the sidewalk on your regular trash pick-up day, according to the Director of Consolidated Public Works Michael Chiasson. Trash pick-up days have not been delayed, he said. If your pick-up day was this past Monday, Chiasson said, then you should put your trash and debris out on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

If you can, cut the debris into smaller pieces. Doing so will helps crews dispose of them more quickly, Chiassons said.

“It's going to take us a week or two to get everything,” he said.
