The Waltham City Council on Monday unanimously passed an ordinance that allows delis to open in Waltham, according to City Clerk Russ Malone.
Previously, retail delis were allowed in Waltham, but there was no specific zoning category under which they could be opened.
Under the new regulation, delis will be allowed, without prior special permit approval, in Business A, Business B and Business C districts along with commercial and industrial areas.
