Tim King Says He Won't Run for Fargo's State Senate Seat

King said in a statement it's too much of an undertaking.

In a statement released Wednesday morning, Waltham Police Det. Sgt. Tim King said he will not be running for the state senate seat being vacated by incumbent Susan Fargo, who announced earlier this month she will not seek re-election.

King told Waltham Patch last week he was exploring the idea of candidacy, however in his statement he said the timing wasn't right.

"After working through the planning stages of the campaign, I realized that as a father of young children, the timing for such a large undertaking is not perfect," he said.

Family is his first priority, King said, and running would detract from his duties as a parent.

King said he was met with support while deciding whether to run, and he thanked those who encouraged him to do so.

"I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to the people of the district who educated me on the issues that affect them and inspired me to continue working in the community to make Waltham and the surrounding towns in the district a great place to live and work," he said.
