The End of Parking Meters on Main Street in Waltham?

Changes to parking meters will soon be made on Main Street.

Good news for Waltham motorists - in the near future, you won't have to pay curbside parking meters on Main Street.

That's because the meters will be removed when the sidewalks are redone on Main Street, according to Waltham's Traffic Engineer J. Michael Garvin. However, Garvin did not specify when the sidewalks will be redone.

On Sept. 19, the Waltham Traffic Commission approved removing all curbside parking meters on Main Street, according to Garvin. Instead, the city plans to restrict the spaces that are currently metered with limited-parking. The time limit, however, has yet to be determined.
